Whether you're sitting down for a casual dinner with friends or enjoying a meal with family, the welcoming ambiance sets the stage for an unforgettable meal.

When it comes to the menu, Oakcali Ethiopian-American Fusion doesn't disappoint. One of the standout dishes is their spiced-up version of the classic Ethiopian injera, paired perfectly with a variety of hearty stews and meat dishes. The flavors feel both familiar and fresh, making it a perfect spot for those who want to explore Ethiopian cuisine while still enjoying the comfort of American flavors.

The restaurant also offers a range of American-inspired options, like the mouthwatering barbecue chicken wings, glazed in a smoky-sweet sauce, or the popular fusion burger, combining the heartiness of a classic American burger with Ethiopian spices and toppings. These fusion dishes are a true testament to Oakcali's innovative spirit, merging two food worlds in a way that feels seamless and natural.

What truly sets Oakcali apart, though, is the sense of community that fills the space. What People's Say About Place

Great food. Nice service and nice people. Also one of the only places in East Oakland open early for a good breakfast. Definitely will be going again.

Portal was closed for lunch so my buddy and I decided to grab lunch at this spot since it was right next door. It's got an outdoor and small indoor area. I love the vibes of this place. But most importantly, the food was so DAMN good. I got the Tuna sandwich and it was delicious . My buddy got (I forgot the name but look at the pictures) and he loved it. Great service with great food, I will definitely be visiting again.

Came here early Sunday afternoon, not busy at all.Ordered this breakfast sandwich, it got delivered fast, I give it 10 out ten! Will come back : )

Lovely black-woman-owned restaurant! Grab their lunch or breakfast, like their Ethiopian Breakfast (scrambled eggs, scrambled injera, toast, and rice, $12) and a coffee for you to enjoy either on their sidewalk patio, in either wing of their indoor restaurant, or to-go at nearby Lake Merritt. They are also open for dinner.

Delicious Ethiopian breakfast with open air alfresco dining. Very close to lake Merritt. Highly recommend it. Try the Ethiopian breakfast while you're here.
